Get your copy of the two Florida Ag Production Guides just released, covering citrus production and vegetable production.

Florida agriculture is an important industry with hundreds of different crops being grown in The Sunshine State. Two important Florida ag production guides—the Florida Citrus Production Guide and the Vegetable Production Handbook of Florida were released today by UF/IFAS. See the details below.

Florida Ag Production Guides

According to a UF/IFAS blog post, the Florida Citrus Production Guide is “an annual reference guide for commercial Florida citrus growers. The Citrus Production Guide includes detailed chapters on diagnosis and management of various fungal, insect, and weed pests; pesticides registered in Florida and standards associated with their use; and information on establishing and managing citrus groves, including economic considerations and useful websites and apps to consult. The strategies in this guide were developed by UF/IFAS faculty and scientists at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred. These strategies are regularly reviewed, so you can be sure the recommendations are the safest and most up-to-date for the state.”

The Vegetable Production Handbook of Florida is an “annual handbook provides commercial Florida growers with the latest information on crop cultivars, cultural practices, and pest management. It includes chapters on fertilizer management, irrigation management, and integrated pest management, as well as biopesticides and alternative management products. It also features chapters on the various types of crops commonly grown in Florida, from leafy vegetables to legumes, strawberries, and tomatoes. Each chapter includes extensive tables with information on products registered for use controlling fungal, insect, and weed problems in each crop.”

Copies can be found on the CREC website or requested for free from any UF/IFAS Research and Education Center and any local Extension office.
