Griffin Fertilizer is offering another free Forages Field Day, May 18th in Zolfo Springs, Florida.

 

There’s another opportunity for Florida’s cattle operators to improve their operation’s forage capabilities, thanks to Griffin Fertilizer, Dow AgroSciences, Silver Spurs and UF/IFAS Extension. They’re co-hosting another Forages Field Day, and this one is slated for May 18th from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. at Zolfo Springs Cattle LLC, located at 3780 US-17, in Zolfo Springs, Florida.

Zolfo Springs Forages Field Day Schedule

 

This second Forages Field Day is another free event that should help Central Florida cattle producers to improve their forages program, save money, and expand their agribusiness’s capabilities. The event offers presentations by guest speakers Daniel Leckie, with Dow Agrosciences; Dr. Brent Sellers, a UF IFAS Extension Specialist; and Jonael Bosques, a UF/IFAS Extension Ag Agent with Hardee County. Topics of the Forages Field Day include forages and herbicide/pesticide issues.

The day’s agenda is as follows:

10:00 am – 11:00 am: Explanation of Pasture Herbicide Trials at the demonstration site.

11:00 am – 12:00 pm: Weed Identification, Herbicide selection, Sprayer Calibration, and Invasive Weed Species.

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: Lunch provided

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: TBD.

The event also offers opportunities to gain Pesticide Continuing Education Units, or CEUs. Contact event coordinators for the CEUs that can be earned at the free Forages Field Day.
