The videos and posters at the UF/IFAS booth during the 2021 Citrus Expo are available online for those who missed the event.
The UF/IFAS Booth at the 2021 Citrus Expo had a new look this year. Held Aug. 18-19, the event offered educational sessions on the latest in grove management, and more. UF/IFAS organizers decided to focus their presentations and exhibits on practical information that growers could make use of now to improve yield, manage costs and address pest problems, according to a Citrus Industry article. They offered booklets, fliers, and short videos for growers, and those items are available online for those who missed attending the show. See the details below.

Michael Rogers, director of the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC), said in the article, “The whole goal of the booth this year was to really simplify the information because a lot of us as researchers, we tend to put up posters that are very scientific. And maybe the message gets lost in the details on those posters.”
Rogers said growers had expressed wanting to know the “bottom line” or take-away information, so the Expo booth delivered. He shared that the focus was in trying to “minimize the noise or the clutter” and focus instead on “what’s important for the grower to know and do now.”
Handouts or videos at UF/IFAS’s Citrus Expo booth included:
- A video on preharvest fruit drop
- A publication listing around 50 ongoing UF/IFAS research projects
- A publication with key points about UF/IFAS citrus varieties
- Copies of the 2021-22 Florida Citrus Production Guide
According to the article, posters and videos that were available at the booth are available on the UF/IFAS Citrus Research website. Click on “Presentations,” then “Citrus Expo Presentations,” then “2021 Citrus Expo.”
