Have comments about crop insurance for citrus? Make it to one of these crop insurance listening sessions.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) has contracted Agralytica, a company out of Alexandria, Virginia, to collect feedback concerning federal crop insurance revenue coverage options for citrus growers. They will be holding crop insurance listening sessions, and according to a Citrus Industry article, the sessions are aimed at getting comments from citrus growers, those in insurance, and other “interested parties”  on crop insurance policy options, including feedback and ideas for improving or expanding crop insurance options. Crop Insurance Listening Sessions

The sessions will feature Agralytica staff available to listen to and communicate concerning questions, comments, and concerns regarding citrus crop insurance. Citrus growers, insurance agents, and others to have their voices heard.

According to the article, the dates, times, and locations of the listening sessions are:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2:00–4:00 pm — Bert J. Harris Agricultural Center Conference Room #2, 4509 George Blvd., Sebring, FL 33876
  • Thursday, Sept. 26, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — Indian River Research and Education Center, 2199 South Rock Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34945

Additionally, those who cannot attend can submit comments via email, at  awilliamson@agralytica.com, using “Citrus insurance” in the subject line.
