Citrus growers are encouraged to attend an educational workshop on citrus pest management January 19^th at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred. The workshop will focus on different pests in citrus, according to a UF/IFAS blog. See the details below.

Details of the Workshop on Citrus Pest Management

According to the blog, the workshop will feature three seminar sections featuring hands-on activities. They are:

Seminar 1: “An update on Asian citrus psyllid research and management and leafminer research and management by Professor Lukasz Stelinski, Diaprepes impacts and nematode management with Professor Larry Duncan, and lebbeck mealybug information with Assistant Professor Lauren Diepenbrock.”

Seminar 2: “Information on flat mites, rust mites and Bulimulus snails.”

Seminar 3: “Information on beneficials for ACP management with Associate Professor Jawwad Qureshi and the latest information on beneficials for lebbeck mealybug led by Diepenbrock in addition to a presentation of habitats for predators.”

Attendees will receive a catered lunch and a notebook of the printed presentations and hand lens.

The workshop costs $60 for those who register by January 12^th and $85 for registration after January 12^th.

According to the blog, “RUP CEUs available include 4 private applicator, ag tree crop, ag row crop, and demo and research. There will be 4.5 CEUs available for CCAs in the pest management category.”
