The Manatee County Farm City Week Committee is accepting applications for the Manatee County Outstanding Agriculturalist Award.

Two awards for those in agriculture in Manatee County are accepting applications, and you have until August 31st to nominate a deserving individual. According to a UF/IFAS blog, “Each year the Manatee County Farm City Week Committee selects two individuals in recognition of their contributions to the Manatee County Agriculture industry.  The Manatee County Outstanding Agriculturalist and the Agriculture Hall of Fame are the two awards recognized annually.” See the details below.

Details of the Manatee County Outstanding Agriculturalist Award

According to the blog, “Eligible applicants include farmers, commercial fruits or vegetable producers, greenhouse industry, industry representatives, crop consultants, agriculture educators, or anyone else involved with the agricultural sector.” There are two awards that require nominations. They are:

  1. The Manatee County Outstanding Agriculturalist Award. “The Outstanding Agriculturalist must be a current member of the community. This person is honored during the Kiwanis Club of Bradenton Farm City Week Luncheon on Nov. 14, 2023.”
  2. Agriculture Hall of Fame Award. These nominees “may be living or deceased. This person is honored at the Hall of Fame Luncheon on Nov. 17, 2023.”
