Nominate a citrus producer for the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame; nominations are being accepted through November 1st.

Know a citrus producer deserving of recognition? Nominate him or her for the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame! Nominations are being accepted for the next round of Hall of Fame inductees, according to a Citrus Industry article. According to The Florida Citrus Hall of Fame, the organization was “established in 1962 to pay tribute to those who have made outstanding contributions to the Florida citrus industry.”  See the details below.

Nominate a Citrus Producer

According to the article, citrus producers and others can be nominated; “Eligible nominees are industry leaders who have made significant contributions to the Florida citrus industry in any of the following fields: pioneering, harvesting, packing, processing, marketing, science and/or education.” Do you know someone who fits the bill?

The deadline for entries is November 1st. According to the article, nominations received after the deadline will be entered in for the following year’s nominations. Paper nomination forms can be obtained by contacting FCHOF Executive Director Brenda Eubanks Burnette at 561-351-4314 or on the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame website. Paper nominations should be mailed to the following address: Florida Citrus Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 1576, Bartow, FL 33831-1576. Inductees are honored each year at a banquet sponsored by the Florida Department of Citrus and Florida Citrus Mutual at Florida Southern College in Lakeland.
