Citrus Industry Magazine offers four article-and-test options for earning Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) throughout the year. According to the CEU Central page, “Each article grants one CEU in the Core category toward the renewal of a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services restricted-use pesticide license when the accompanying test is submitted and approved.” Each article and test combo has an expiration date, with the first coming up soon. The Citrus Industry Magazine articles for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) have the following expiration dates:

  1. Expiration Date: 1/31/24

Key Terms to Know When Using Pesticides: “As a certified restricted-use pesticide applicator, it is your responsibility to use pesticides safely, not only for yourself but for others around you and the environment. This article will explain key terms that all pesticide applicators should know and understand when using pesticides.”

  1. Expiration Date: 4/30/24

 What To Do When You’ve Been Exposed to a Pesticide: “This article will review the symptoms of pesticide exposure, how cholinesterase inhibitors work, and how to render first aid for pesticide emergencies.”

  1. Expiration Date: 7/31/24

 A Guide to Safe, Effective Pesticide Use: “One crucial aspect of responsible pesticide use is understanding and interpreting the pesticide label. These labels provide essential information on proper handling, application and safety precautions. Labels also give instructions on using the product effectively.”

  1. Expiration Date: 10/31/24

How to Properly Transport and Store Pesticides: “Pesticides can often pose a threat to the health and safety of people, wildlife and the environment if they are not handled properly. It is important to practice good pesticide safety while transporting and storing potentially hazardous materials in order to reduce risks.”
