Fertilizer applicators can earn their GI-BMP Certificate with UF/IFAS Extension Orange County, in Orlando, in March.

Did you know that “fertilizer is regulated in Florida and that landscape professionals are required to learn about it and follow the rules?” A UF/IFAS blog maintains that “Every person that applies fertilizer for hire is required by law to have a Limited Certification for Urban Landscape Fertilizer application.” Part of getting the Limited Certification for Urban Landscape Fertilizer application is getting the GI-BMP. Fertilizer applicators can earn their Green Industries Best Management Practices Certificate, or GI-BMP, on March 21st. There are also two other dates later in the year, one in September and a class in December for Spanish speakers. See the details below.
