Commodity Classic, the nation’s largest farmer-focused convention and trade show welcomed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack as the keynote speaker for the seventh time at the annual event. This year’s event was held in New Orleans, LA, and total attendance was 9,770, compared to 7,936 in 2015. More importantly, this year’s event hosted 4,596 growers.
Secretary Vilsack has served under President Obama as the 30th Secretary of Agriculture since 2009. Attendees were encouraged to take full advantage of the dozens of educational sessions offered. The President of the American Soybean Association, Richard Wilkins remarked, “We are grateful for his leadership and advocacy, and the audience always looks forward to his insights.”
Next year’s event will be held March 2-4, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. For more information about this event, visit www.CommodityClassic.com.
