Florida growers and others can get free Core CEUs, up to four each year, from Citrus Industry Magazine.

Those Florida growers and others in need of continuing education units (CEUs) in the Core for the Florida restricted-use pesticide license can earn up to four free Core CEUs every year from Citrus Industry magazine, according to a Citrus Industry article. Explore the details below.

Earning Free Core CEUs

Every quarter, Citrus Industry Magazine prints a CEU article that is good for one continuing education unit in the Core category. Those wishing to take advantage can read the article, take the online test that accompanies the article, and submit it. Once the submitted test is passed, the Core CEU is awarded. Those interested can also fill out the form in the magazine that is printed with the article and mail it to the author. CEU processing takes about two weeks, and they are good for one year.

Article authors are Extension agents with the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS). This quarter’s article is “Proper storage of pesticides,” by Ajia Paolillo. According to the article, the CEU article “addresses site considerations and security, temperature control, proper lighting, shelves and flooring, labeling and inventory, and more.”

This quarter’s article and accompanying test can be found here. The year’s quarterly articles and tests can be accessed here. The first article of 2021 will be in the February issue.
