In need of Core CEUs to renew your restricted-use pesticide license? Find them in this article.
With the restrictions put in place due to Covid-19, many Florida growers are in need of Core CEUs to renew their restricted-use pesticide licenses. While some options are available online, like watching these presentations from the 2020 Florida Citrus Growers’ Institute, courtesy of UF/IFAS, Citrus Industry magazine has added another: a new CEU Central article titled “Understanding pesticide labeling,” according to a Citrus Industry article. See the details below.
Core CEUs Article
“Understanding pesticide labeling” is authored by Amir Rezazadeh, a multi-county fruit and field crops Extension agent with the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences St. Lucie County Extension office in Fort Pierce.
The article focuses on the important details found in the four major categories of information on a pesticide label: safety, environmental, product and use. These categories are crucial for properly applying pesticides, which is why a grower with a restricted-use pesticide license would need to know about them.
Growers will need to read the article and then pass the accompanying 20-question test. Once successful, they will be awarded one free CEU in the Core category, and the CEU should take about two weeks to process.
There are also more Citrus Industry magazine CEU articles that growers can utilize to earn Core CEUs for renewing their restricted-use pesticide licenses. These articles can be found on the CEU Central webpage, and another will be available in November, according to the Citrus Industry article.
