The 25th Annual Citrus Expo is slated for August 17th and 18th at the Lee Civic Center in Fort Myers, and it’s shaping up to be an event that’s jam-packed with important and valuable information for anyone in the citrus industry. Touted as “the world’s premier seminar and trade show program for citrus growers and industry professionals,” the Citrus Expo offers an equal mix of education and fellowship for “growers, industry leaders, decision-makers and vendors.” Take a sneak peek below at what this year’s expo will offer.

Citrus Expo Presentations

The Citrus Expo is full of presentations and seminars by industry representatives and leaders. Some speaker highlights include:

  • Tripti Vashisth, an assistant professor and citrus Extension specialist at the Citrus Research and Education Center, will present a seminar on citrus greening titled, “What you can do now to manage the health and productivity of HLB-affected groves.”
  • Ariel Singerman, an assistant professor at the Citrus Research and Education Center, will lead a “Current economics of citrus production” It will focus on citrus production costs for the 2015–16 season and compare them with prior seasons.He will also share the results of a study he conducted on Citrus Health Management Areas (CHMAs).
  • Evan Johnson, a research assistant scientist at the Citrus Research and Education Center, will be giving an update on citrus canker management.
  • The University of Florida’s Kelly Morgan, from the Southwest Florida Research and Education Center, will be conducting a seminar on Best Management Practices called “BMPs: new regulations and compliance issues.”
