Ag Day is March 18th; find statistics and ways to celebrate the farmers and ranchers who put food on our tables and more.
March 18th is Ag Day, during Ag Week, with the motto “Together We Grow.” According to AgDay.org, “It’s a day to recognize and celebrate the abundance provided by agriculture. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture.” See statistics on the importance of agriculture and ways to participate.

- “In 2022, 22.1 million full- and part-time jobs were related to the agricultural and food sectors — 10.4 percent of total U.S. employment.”
- According to the 2022 Ag Census “1.9 million farms dot America’s rural landscape, and 95% are operated by families – individuals, family partnerships or family corporations.”
- “Family farms and ranches account for 90% of total agricultural production value.”
- “In 2023, $174.9 billion worth of American agricultural products were exported around the world.”
- “Women make up 36% of the total number of U.S. farm operators; 58% of all farms have at least one female decision-maker.”
