The annual Florida Cattlemen’s Association (FCA) meeting is fast approaching. Set for June 14th through the 16th at the Omni Orlando Resort in ChampionsGate, Florida, this year’s event is set to be a satisfying blend of work and fun, as most events with those in the ag industry often are. Individuals in the Florida cattle business use this meeting to explore developments in ranching methods, to investigate upcoming or changing regulations and to discuss FCA policies. On the ‘getting down to business’ side of things, attendees can expect a flurry of committees and meetings. Monday’s activities are mainly focused on seeing the trade show vendors moved in and settled, though vendors will also be setting up on Tuesday. Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s important business includes an FCA Executive Committee Meeting & Luncheon, a Florida Grazing Lands Coalition Meeting, and a Seedstock Committee meeting, just to name a few. The Trade Show portion opens on Tuesday as well.
As to fun, there’s a lot going on. The meeting also serves as a conference for the Junior Florida Cattlemen’s Association (JFCA) and the Florida Cattle Women (FCW) meetings, so both groups have many activities as well. There’s the ever-popular Youth Quiz Bowl, the Junior Team Marketing Contest, and the FCA Sweetheart and Past Sweethearts Meet & Greet. There is also a silent auction, golf tournament, and a formal dress banquet. It’s the perfect time to come together, network, and have a good time. A full schedule of events can be accessed here.
