The results from 2025 Citrus State of the Industry Survey are in. The survey was conducted by AgNet Media and published in a series of Citrus Industry articles; the first concerns Florida citrus grove conditions. While it is advised that “results are from an online survey, not a scientifically verified survey,” the article shares that “data do reflect general industry trends.” See highlights below.
Citrus State of the Industry Survey Results: Grove Conditions
The following insights were reported in the Citrus State of the Industry Survey concerning grove conditions:
- 29% reported that they expect this year’s citrus production to improve by 10% or more; 20% said it would increase by 5%-9%; 26% said they expected it to remain the same; and 25% said they expected it to decrease in some measure.
- 37% maintained that fruit quality would be good; 10% said it would be excellent; 17% said it would be fair; 27% said average; and 9% said poor.
- 71% said they have treated their groves with OTC injections with 64% reporting three injections, 30% saying they’ve administered two injections, and 6% saying they’ve given one injection.
- 81% of respondents said they believe OTC injections have improved the health of citrus trees in their groves; 9% responded that it hasn’t, and 10% responded they were not sure.
- 15% said they believe OTC injections have improved their yields by more than 15%; 14% said it’s improved by 11%-15%; 11% said it has improved by 1% to 5%; 30% responded that it’s improved by 6% to 10%; and 30% responded that there has been no yield response.
- 61% shared that they have seen fruit quality improvements from OTC injections.
